It sure would be nice to have a manual which would stay open without requiring 2 hands so you could operate the Clavinova with the manual open flat in front of you on the music rack.

Take it to a place like OfficeMax and they will put it in a plastic spiral binder for less than $3.00.

HOW DO THEY DO THAT!? Do they cut the spine off the manual and punch holes in the pages and put a spiral binder on it? Certainly, for that price, they don't reprint it, do they?

I don't know if it varies from store to store. Where I take mine, they cut just enough of the spine to unbind it, and then punch holes and spiral bind it. It looks just like a spiral notebook, but instead of the spiral being made of metal wire, it is a durable flexible plastic. I do it with all of my music books that have a rigid spine. It ends all fighting with the book to keep it open.

Being a guy, I only read the manual as a last resort :D

Good Luck but I find "last resorts" come up frequently with the Clavinova.

I had mine done at Office Max for $4 + change. It's great. Thanks for the tip, Hububer.

I feel good about the charge because, the guy who made out the order had it at $6+. But, he's the same guy who asked his colleague how to spell Williams.

I still would like to have the manual come spiral bound, Yamaha rep (If you read this).
