I was about to put a deposit on a CVP 307, since I just sold a traditional grand piano I owned. While shopping and making some phone calls to various dealers I found out a local deal has a 4 foot 11 digital grand make by Kohler. I'm told that the insides are really a Korg Triton keyboard. I already have a PSR 3000 so many styles and voices that are in the 307 I have in the 3000.

I need some feedback about what to buy.

Hi

I am going out with a blonde but a friend of mine has showed me this red-head, which one should I marry ????????????

Not really, I'm already married. But as you can see, it is an impossible question.

As we have all, had to follow our hearts, you will have to follow your "ears" & "wallet". The good news is, which ever one you choose, they will both have an On/Off switch.

My understanding is that the Kohler doesn't have an on/off switch ;) .

I probably should have put the question a little differently, more like has anyone had any experience with the Kohler ?

Prices on both units are very close, so it's not a wallet decision. I found some specs on the Kohler, they are not nearly as impressive as the CVP 307. I will be trying the Kohler later today and that will tell all.

I played the Kohler this evening and was disappointed in it. Looks like it's a no brainer CVP307.

Hello Stephen,

Good choice!! Did you try the CVP309PE with the wood key action. Curious to hear your thoughts on the action of the CVP-307 with the GH3action and the 309 with the wood key action.

No I haven't tried the 309PE the dealer I'm going to order from did not have one in stock. He only had a 305.

My CVP 307 finally arrived today and assembled in my apt. Been playing it since it arrived. It is truly an awesome instrument. I did prior to delivery played on both the 309 and the 307. There was only a slight difference in the action of the wooden keys versus the plastic but not enough to warrant another $1500. Hope you enjoy your new cvp 307.

regards,

mike

Mike:

Congratulations on getting your new 307 !

I'm headed to the dealer's tomorrow to purchase mine. How long from the time you ordered until you took delivery?

Also in terms of the action, did you try a 305 and if so is the action like the 305?

hello Stephen,

Yes the action of the 307 is the same as the 305. Both have the GH3 action. As an accomplished pianist and being very particular about the action of my piano the 307 GH3 does just fine. The action on the 309 with the wood keys feel just a tad lighter than the GH3 action. Let see I placed an order pof my CVP about three weeks ago and my 307 arrived in GA yesterday from CA. How much are you paying for your 307?

Hi Mike:

I put a deposit on the 307 this afternoon. While I was there I played the 305 that he had on display. I was happy with the feel of the action, I'm also a pianist.

They tell me if the 307 is in stock somewhere in Georgia it will be delivered within a week. If shipped from California I'm looking at 2 and half to 3 weeks. I'm anxious, but at least I have a PSR 3000 that I'm playing and really enjoying.

I got what I believe and hope is a very competitive price $5150. before tax. Of course I worked for the dealer back in the 1970s when I first got out of school and thru the years have made a number of purchases from him and have always sent friends to this store for musical equipment. That price includes his setting up at his store and delivery to my home.

How do you like your 307 so far?

One thing I noticed on the 305 that was on my 107 and 3000 is a set of buttons that let you select styles. Does the 307 have those or they selected another way?

P.S. I should have mentioned that with tax the bottom line price is $5550
