Hello,

I own a CVP 307 and a Korg harddiskrecorder, the D1200 MKII. The MKII is used mainly for recording my very beloved Yamaha Clavinova. I made several recordings but everytime I hear distortion through the headphones and also in the recording itself in de MKII and after burning.

I use the Fixed Level-output of the Clavinova (this is recomended by Yamaha).

Does someone recognize this?

I use a Fostex MR8 and have the same problem using the fixed level output. The fixed signal is probably too hot for your recorder and clipping the peaks. Try using the other Aux Out jacks and reducing the volume level with the volume control.

I use the fixed level output, but I turn the Song volume (in the Mixing Console) down quite a bit - generally to 60 or less when recording to the PC, otherwise it is too "hot". I also use a fairly flat EQ setting to avoid the recordings being too bassy.
