I am trying to make my 209 have a heavier touch, to more approximate a concert grand piano. I discovered the Controller selection under the function menu and then changed the keyboard touch to hard but still do not feel like I have accomplished what I want to do. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can give the keyboard a heavier touch using any different settings?

It won't get "physically" heavier - the setting just determines how hard you have to strike a key to get a response. I find it's kind of a mental thing - different instruments make me "feel" the keyboard differently, even though it is physically the same touch. Play an electric piano voice for a while, then switch to a grand voice, and maybe you'll see what I mean. On the other hand, maybe somebody's been sprinkling something on my cereal...

Hi there!
Yes, you cannot make your CVP's keys physically harder...just you have to strike stronger in order to get the required sound ro come out.
By the way, I am a professional classical pianist and got graduated in a Conservatoire so I can assure you that in order to get a real grand concert piano sound you have to keep it as it is..do not convert to hard touch because it will not correspond to a real concert piano and moreover do not to try even the soft one for the same reason plus if you get too much acquinted to it then there will be a possibility that in the future you may have some difficulties in order to adjust yourself to a real hard touch piano when and if the situation requires so.
All the best

I had to try and make my cvp touch apear harder and found that fiddling with Controller selection under the function menu didn't really do anything.
You may want to try using the sound creator and modify the piano sound as this does make a diference.
Again as mentioned the touch doesn't get harder, however you do need to play with more force to get the same volumn of sound. It helped my daughter though in that when she tried to play softly on a grand she kept failing to sound some notes and this fixed it. I saved the new piano settings, but don't use them all the time...
have fun
