Sure, the CVP has two wurlitzer sounds "vintage piano 1 and 2". You can combine them with the rhodes pianosounds as right 1 and 2 to make the sound richer.

The best Wurly sound is the one included in the USA upgrade voices. Lots of grit and just a little distortion.

Come on, Steve. Give us the whole story.
Where did this "USA Upgrade" come from and what should one do with the files once they're in a computer?

Hi John
Thats fairly simple
Unzip the file to a 3 1/2" disk and put it in the cvp
if you go to user voices now and select the floppydrive tab you'll see the voices appear and you can select them to play.
Sablair.
I already had these voices for cvp 303,305,307 version V3.0
Now the ones you put here have the same voicenames but are differend in sound ???
Actualy they are better, did you change them or is it a later version of the u.s.upgrade voices ?
Kind regards
Eric

Thanks, Eric.
When I think of "upgrade", I think of modifying something which already exists.
The "USA Upgrade Voices" appear to be nothing more than additional voices which someone chose to call "USA Upgrade". Furthermore, from your question to Steve, I gather that there may be more than one set.
When I saw the Steve's post about the "upgrade", I thought maybe I was missing a Yamaha Clavinova upgrade.
I still would like to know where they came from.
Cheers.

Sorry to confuse folks with the term "upgrade". It's really just the USA version 3.0 (and, thus, an upgrade over the rest of the world ;) ) I guess it's our "reward" for dealing with Yamaha's very strict pricing, advertising and purchasing "system" in the U.S.
And no, I didn't tweak these voices at all.
OK, if you have a CVP 307 or better, here's a color quadrant screen:
http://home.pacbell.net/sablair/ColorScreen.bmp
Just load it as a background pic per the Owner's manual.
And check this thread to get the U.S. version of the Music Finder File...for the various 300 Series CVP's:
http://cvpug.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=839&goto=newpost
So now, except for maybe running on 240 volts, you have a CVP 307 with the same "personality" as the 307 sitting right here in my living room....

What page in the users manual can I find the info for loading the background?

Hi
Did you know that custom voices from other models like the psr 2000/2100 etc are compatable with your cvp!
