I posted a message about my CVP 30 having been struck by lightning and won't play. I've been told that it's probably not worth what it would take to repair it. I have offered it to a friend who might try to get it fixed himself.

BTW, I finally figured out how to get the lid open. The fuses look fine. Nothing looks burned up.

Anyway, does anyone know what the nearest current model would be? IOW, a current model that's the nearest equivalent. I'm trying to see if the insurance company will replace it for me.

Thanks,
Keith

According to Yamaha's website, the CVP-30 was introduced in 1989. While it was good at the time, it is extremely limited by today's standards (a pdf version of the owner's manual is on the Yamaha site also). Therefore, comparing CVPs to CVPs, the closest "CVP" today would be the CVP-301. The type of insurance policy you have may affect whether the insurance company is willing to replace it with a new/current model. Good luck!!!
