Has anyone found a microphone that works well with vocal harmony, and doesn't make your voice sound like it's coming from a public address system? Are there any recommended tweeks anyone knows of to smooth out the voice??
Thanks

A few shots of Tequila works great :D
(just make sure your audience gets loaded too!)
I started with a cheap RadioShack mic and it sounded like crap. So I bought a "better quality" Audio-Technica ($50 at Best Buy) and it sounds ALOT better - but still not great. I'm sure a pro would tell you that you need to spend hundreds to get something decent, but I dunno ... I really don't think the internal Amp has enough power to handle the vocals without excessive clipping and distortion (hence the PA harmonics).

After hearing demos of the VH feature by a rep from Yamaha using a later model than my 207, I was curious as to why the VH sounded more distinct than what I heard from my 207.
I found out that after the VH feature was introduced with the 200 odd series, there was a tweak suggested to the Yamaha engineers that reducing the level of the primary voice would improve the harmony sound. In other words too much of the primary voice was drowning out the harmony.
As I understand it, this was not something that could be done using the VH controls, it required a a revision of the firmware.
The tweak was incorporated starting with the 200 even series.
Hi, since this thread was started just about a year ago, i wonder if anyone has found a microphone that works well on the cvp 305 lately.
Thanks!
