This is not specific to Yamaha (Clavinova) - as I think that all manufacturers need to take a look at this one.... unless there's a way around it that I have yet to discover. If Yamaha hits it first, all the better.

Programmable Vocal Harmony:)

As many of my comps are choral based, it would be nice to program the vocal harmonies of Soprano, Alto Tenors Basses and others as data stored with the file - when you play back the song (and sing in the mic) when you hit the "harmony" spots it pics up which notes and pitches the vocal harmonizer should use, rather than the simple 3rds or 5ths according to the settings, or having to play the harmonies on the keyboard while you are singing (I can only do so many things at one time). You would also be able to assign each "harmony part" it's own parameters such as female voice, or group of female voices in unison (etc), and you could program complicated harmonies as well (11 part harmonies for example).

Also, if you aren't singing - the playback would ignore the harmony parts all together.

It would also aid in practising/composing where some parts remain silent while other parts are singing - if it were programmed in, the piano would know when to harmonize and when not to.

Perhaps there is a way to get this accomplished, and I haven't yet discovered it.
