I'm going to buy either CVP-202(203) or PF-1000. Both instruments have very little difference in price (in Moscow) but much more difference in capabilities. I'm scientific researcher in Moscow University and (as you can guess :) ) my budget does not allow me to bye higher models (CVP-202 price in Moscow is $2500, and PF-1000 price is about $2700 while, for example, CVP-204 price is $3500).
So, I'll be very gratefull for every advice. Does anybody know something about any disadvantages of PF-1000 in comparison with CVP-202 (may be 203)? I know that the acoustic system is not so beautifull and of course no keyboard cover:-)) . But these weaknesses look negligible for me. May be I don't know something about sounds and types of wave synthesis?
Thank you all in advance

I think that the PF-1000 is comparable even to CVP-205 (minus the guidelights, keyboard cover and some output powers).
If you can live with that and at the same time need more portability/mobility, then go ahead with the PF-1000. Otherwise you won't regret with any of the CVP models either.

I was considering between CVP205 and PF-1000. I ended up with a CVP205.

Dimka:

I bought a PF-1000 about a month ago. At time we didn't cinsider the CVP series as we wanted the look of a standalone keyboard, so I cannot help you with a comparison.

I agree that the sound from the speakers on the PF-1000 is not great. What I did was to buy two separate speakers (Event TR-5) and a small subwoofer (Yamaha YST-SW005), and attached them to the output of the piano through a small mixer.

We get a very rich sound now.

Best regards,

Bob.

Thank you a lot, Dionz and Bob! I'm quite happy now with your advices. I think I'll buy the PF-1000.
