View Full Version : Pitch bend/Mod pedal usage

Any recent comments from the group on how effective the pedals can be used as a pitch bend or mod wheel?
I know they CAN, but do they REALLY work?
Also, can a single pedal go "up and down" they way a wheel action would? Is it configurable to get both the up and down response in some manner, using one or more pedals?
I've been dabbling in the wind-controller realm and have gotten used to expressive abilities when playing emulative voices.
Are there any after market products which could add pitch/mod wheel to the CVP? (short of buying a Motif, etc.. :)
thanks!

Thanks , Orbit, that is a great question.
I'm sure some of the friendly people on the CVP group would be more than happy to respond to your thoughtful inquiry...

LOL! That is a good question - I've never looked, so not much help there. I have an expression pedal, but don't really use it for pitch bend. I would imagine a wheel would make a much better interface.

Thanks CG - much better than being alone on my own thread
In what way do you use your expression pedal? What kind do you have and does it do more than change volume? Just curious.
thanx

I have a Yamaha FC-7 foot controller. It will do any of the functions of the Aux. pedal, including pitch bend. I just haven't had occasion to work with it much in that capacity. Primarily I use it for controlling volume if I'm recording an organ track. It works just fine for pitch bend, though I think it might take more practice to get the touch down than with a wheel-type controller.

Hi Ericho,
Do you set one pedal for up bend and another for down?

hi
No not realy
Most of the time the left pedal is set to pith bent up
and the middle one to modulation or dsp variation.
You can set it however you like just acording to your ouwn taste and need.
Kind regards
Eric
