Has anyone ever gotten their IDC- enabled CVP (or Tyros or PSR or whatever) to communicate with Yamaha through a proxy server?
Except for one exception (which I'll discuss below), the configuration seems straightforward enough - just tell the CVP the name (or presumably the IP address) of your proxy server and port. But it doesn't work. At least I haven't gotten it to. Whenever I try, it times out trying to reach the IDC home page. And I know my proxy server is working as I have connected through it from IE and Firefox with no problems.
Exception: There is a strange field on the configuration screen for "Non-Proxy Server". I've read the manuals for the CVP307, Tyros, and PSR-3000, and all of them are equally worthless in describing this field.
My best guess was that this field is for listing servers for which the proxy server should NOT be consulted (typically for servers internal to the firewall). I set the field appropriately, as well as leaving it blank - neither worked.
I have a question open with Yamaha on this, and am anxiously awaiting their response, but in the meantime, I thought I would ask if any of you have successfully connected to IDC from behind a proxy server.
Regards,
Ross
