All:

Does anyone know if Yamaha has actually started selling the CVP-204, 206, 208 and 210 yet?

A Google search on the CVP-210 returns number of sites in Europe that seem to be handling them, although none in the US yet.

In Japan it seems that they are now selling the 202, 204 and 206, but not the 208 or 210. If your computers can see the Japanese characters you can see their product lineup at the following site:
http://www.yamaha.co.jp/product/epiano-keyboard/epiano/multi.html

On this site I note with interest that the PF-1000 is included on the Clavinova page.

Best regards,

Bob.

Yes, they are on for sale in Europe already since a while. I have seen the 202 & 204 on display in Paris. Other even models can be ordered within days.

Same in Germany. They have been here for the better part of close to 6 weeks. Prices are those of the "uneven" models.

Just orderded a CVP 208, having saved up for ages and am waiting for it to arrive in the the UK. Very exited by the propect. Owned a PSR 9000 before and am looking forward to the joys of owning a Clavinova.

Anyone know what the styles are on the 208 compared to the 207? (there seem to be more?)

Your in excited expectation,

Glenn.

Keep up the great info on this site guys. I find it very useful.

Hi Glen,
form what I have heard (I played the 208 and 210) at this year's music fair in Frankfurt, the differences are really not that huge. I was told by many sources, Yamaha at the fair and dealers, that the even models are a "face-lift" compared to the uneven ones. However if you are interested in styles, I suggest you check out this site:
http://www.psrtutorial.com
They not only have interesting styles but IMHO the best information on everything you wanted to know about Yamaha's PSR, CVP and Tyros,
Cheers,
Reinhard

p.s. don't forget to register there

I've had my 208 for three weeks now. I placed the order about 1 month ago. At that time the 208 was the only even numbered Clavinova Yamaha Sweden had in stock.

Mats

Hi All

I replied to an earlier post on the subject and I guess left it too long to get a reply.

However, I am interested in upgrading to a newer model and am wondering if you folks compared the CVP's with the competition. EG: The Roland KR series or the Technics equivalents.

I would be very interested in your views on the pros and cons of these various instruments.

I presently have a CLP 300 and am not sure if i am ready for all the bells and whistles of the more sophisticated series pianos. But the very fact that this forum exists is encouraging.

As mentioned in my previous post I am a rather late in life piano student.

I have not seen the new even numbered CVP's in Canada yet, I think they may be still trying to unload the odd numbered series from the retail stores.

Hope to hear from you, Ian

Ian, it may be worthwhile for you to check out the new CLP Clavinova series. You're used to the simplistic layout already & it won't have all those bells & whistles.

The top of the line CLP170 is the creme de la creme -- it has an astounding touch, the most realistic grand piano I've ever heard on a digital & it even has a diskdrive so you can play/record MIDI files. They've come a long way since your 300.

Since you live in Ontario, the Yamaha Canada capital, you should have no problem locating a dealer that carries the CLP100 & CVP200 series.

Good luck to ya.

Sarah

Thank you Sarah, I was beginning to think that my post was too late to attract any interest. I joined the CVPUG in April but due to some malfunction i never got my registration acknowledged and was not allowed to reply or make a new posting until June.

I am still agonizing about which type of digital piano to upgrade to, either a CLP or CVP. I am aware of some of the many improvements since my 300 and feel that it is a now or never time to make the move up. I live about 2 hours drive from the nearest large Yamaha dealer and certainly intend to get there in August.

I have decided to rent a Yamaha keyboard for the month of July, with many of the bells and whistles to see if i like using the backing rhythms and/or if indeed I can handle them. Before I bought the 300 I had a rather 'Mickey Mouse" Yamaha keyboard and i never could seem to get the hang of using the very elementary rhythms at that time. It was too much like trying to keep up with a metronome...<G>

However, i am hoping that I have developed musically a bit more and may be happy to have them.

I have heard or read that the CLP 170 has a superior keyboard touch.

I am certainly leaning towards the Yamaha products, partly because of this forum as i am not aware of a similar service for the competition and although I am a manual reader I have yet to read a really easily understandable one related to midi comatible musical insruments.

The only other forum that I subscribe to and enjoy is the PG Music one for their Band in a Box and Power Tracks Audio programs.

Much appreciate you view point, thanks

Ian
