As many of you have noticed, the CVP Users Group is now offering Simon Smith's "Clavinova Made Easy" tutorials. Of all the tutorials that are available on the market, I selected this set for sale on this web site for a couple of reasons.

First, I am a big BIG fan of "usability!" Those video-based tutorials, in my opinion, are too distracting. They're great for demos, and can show you (or your friends!) what your CVP can do. But they're not very good at helping you LEARN how to use your CVP -- some people don't even have a TV in the same room as their piano. These audio CDs give you the information you need without making you take your eyes off of your instrument. They're interactive and VERY user friendly.

Second, if you own a CVP, you've certainly enjoyed the quality of your instrument. These audio tutorials are of the same high quality that you'd expect to be associated with the CVP and with this CVP Users Group. (Well, let's face it -- I wouldn't put MY name on a crappy product!)

So, I contacted the publisher and worked out an arrangement that makes the CVP Users Group the exclusive distributor for these tutorials in North America. The procedes from these tutorials help to keep the CVPUG a free-subscription service for you all. People outside North America are welcome to purchase this product from this web site, and the proceeds help us out there, too.

I hope you enjoy this set of tutorials. It's an amazing product for the price -- you get 7 full-lenth audio CDs with a complete lesson plan. That's over 7 hours of detailed instruction that you can pause, review, and skip through over and over again. I highly recommend it.

I have purchased the set and gave a review at http://www.cvpug.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1323

I highly recommend it, and ... no ... Wally isn't paying me to give it such high praise!

Am I correct that the CVP-200 series tutorials would be appropriate for the CVP-900? Would the button names and features be pretty much the same? If so I will definitely be adding the tutorials to my Christmas list.

I think the CVP-900 was just the baby grand case version of the CVP-209. But then, I don't know where the CVP-210 fits into the picture. Isn't it a baby grand case also?

hi wally
I want to buy this product…but would like to know more about it before I do so….our piano will be home tomorrow –CVP309PE.

Are these cds are for technical part of the CVP….what I mean by that is – do they only teach the features of the piano or does it also help you to do some practice. Like play along songs etc. can you please email me or reply to this thread…..thanks

Wally, the tutorials are first rate. I was having a difficult time with the CVP manual but the CDs have explained a lot of things and make referring to the manual a lot easier. I highly recommend them.
The only complaint I have is that the location of the "talent" button is not mentioned.

Same reminder as last year. If you want these tutorials before Christmas, you'd better get your order in RIGHT NOW. I have time to get one more shipment from the manufacturer and get them mailed out before Christmas. So don't delay!!

I've gotten nothing but positive feedback on this set.

Best wishes, and thanks for supporting this users group!
