One of the things I like to do with my Clavinova is to go to the internet and find midi files of songs that I like to play, and then record my piano tracks over the pre-recorded midi. Here is an example of Elton John's Burn Down the Mission. The drums and strings are pre-recorded but the piano tracks are all me. It's like playing in a really good band. The resulting file exceeds the file size that can be attached in this CVP forum, so I have included it by a link to a Ben Folds fan club website in which I have posted the song under my other screenname, 40something Chicagolawyer. If any of you piano afficianados have not heard of Ben Folds, you should check him out...he is an extremely talented composer/painist that my teenage sons brought to my attention a few years ago. Enjoy

Thanks; it should sound much better on your Clavinova than on computer speakers. I've listened to and been impressed with many of your peices. I'd be interested to know your reaction to mine. I've been working on Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding, but I dare not post it until I fix some clunkers and add some polish.

I finally got a chance to listen on my piano, really enjoyed it. That's one of my top-5 favorite Elton tunes - I've been a huge fan since the beginning. Great job on the piano tracks! The backing was pretty good, too, as midi's go. A little stiff in a couple of places as a lot of them are, but overall, quite good. You should take a stab at creating the whole thing from scratch, or just keep replacing tracks on the midi with your own. Tons of fun.
I'll look forward to hearing your rendition of "Funeral" - it's my all-time favorite song. After I finished covering it a couple years ago, I felt like if I never played another song, I could die happy ;-)
