The FAQ states:
"Fourth, you won't get the set of "Follow the Lights" disks that come with US CVPs"
Does this mean that the lights feature is not included in the hardware or does this mean that you just need to buy additional software to make it work?
Thanks!

The hardware of CVPs sold in Europe is identical to that of the US models. The guidelights do work without the need to buy additional software on either of them.
The FAQ refers to additional software supplied with CVPs in the US which might be nice not necesary to have (I own a "european" 207). If you browse the Yamaha websites you will find that they sell a lot of additional software (mostly midi files on floppies + the corresponding sheet music) for their digital pianos and keyboards. The Guidelights feature will work with any midi file though those sold by Yamaha will behave like expected out of the box while you might have to modify some files downloaded from the internet slightly (changing channels for different tracks, merging tracks etc) to make them do what you want.

What I found out by "accident" with the follow the lights feature.
If you have a midi-file (melody) on disk in the diskette drive and press "record" then my cvp 109 transforms this midi file into a clavinova file where the lights follow the played notes.
Cheers,
