Hello Everyone,

I am now the proud owner of a CVP 208, I am very happy with it. A fantastic sound and a good step up from my PSR9000.

Just one question that you might be able to help me with:

The Music Database and it's criptic names does my head in, I have looked on psr tutionrial as suggested by another post and have downloaded the cvp207 adjusted (making sense) names.

On trying to load them the 208 does not accept them.

Any suggestions what I might be doing wrong or does anyone know if there is a compatible CVP208 Music Database that is not like a crossword puzzle!!!

Your help greatly appreciated.

Glenn Ross

Hello Glenn

I also have a CVP-208. I tried the same thing you did with exactly the same result.

After checking the file with a hex editor I saw it contained the text string "CVP-207". I changed this to CVP-208 and now the file loaded without any error message.

Unfortunately the styles were wrong for the majority of the songs. I guess that the styles in the mfd file are referred by numbers, and since some styles are added in the 208 the style numbering is different compared to the 207.

We'll probably have to live with the Yamaha song titles until someone makes a translation of the 208 mfd or CVP-208 support is added to the MusicFinderView program.

Regards,
Mats

You could also try your Yamaha dealer. When I bought my 209, I had the same problem with silly song titles. I asked my dealer, and they e-mailed me a file which had the real song titles in it.

Regards,
Fred.

Hi

Send me a direct mail. I have copies of all of the files.

For some reason I have not seen a CVP208 file but I do have the CVP 209 and this is almost the same piano.

Email direct and I will return the file to you.
