Is it possible to copy the 7 Teaching Cd's to an mp3 Cd so I can play the entire course on my mp3 player?
I have tried using Nero, Real Player and Media Player but have been unsucessful making a MP3 CD.
Also could the 31 tracks I was successful placeing in the My Music folder be placed into my I-Pod? If I can't make an MP3 copy I thought perhaps I could use my I-pod.
I realize the problem might be the 7 cd's are copyrighted.
My readson for converting the files to mp3's is to save wear a tare on the 7 cd's and make it much easier to skip around to specific tracks I need to learn or practice.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just noticed that the tracks I thought i'd placed in My Music folder had no sound. So i quess the question now is is it possible to record the audio portion of the 7 cd's so they then can be placed on a cd to be played on an mp3 player?

I'm a little confused. Isn't an I-Pod basically an MP3 player? I don't have an I-Pod but I do have a Creative Labs MP3 player.
I have never had any trouble ripping any copyrighted CDs to my player as MP3 files. I don't see any reason why that could not be done with the tutorial CDs. And it's not illegal since it is for your own archival purposes.
I'll try to rip one of mine tonight when I get home and see what happens.
I'll let you know.

I suppose you could use Sound Recorder for this. There are other programs some freeware, some shareware, and some commercial. Soundforge comes to mind. This may be a little more technical than you had in mind, however.

I've used CDex to convert wav to mp3, or to rip mp3's from disc for a number of years. It's free and works quite well:

Thanks for your help!
I found out what I did wrong.
I renamed each of the 31 tracks, #1Track, #2Track, etc.
I guess renaming was the problem.
The good news: I was able to copy and save all tracks to the My Music folder and make an MP3 cd.
However, I still have a problem or question:
The tracks in the My Music folder are saved and usable but they are not in order. Should I create a new folder, say Clavinova Teaching and copy and paste the contents into the new folder? If I do that is it possible to move the tracks back and forth so they wind up in the same order as they were on the 7 Cd's?
Thanks and have a nice day!

As an experiment I ripped CD#1. Windows Media Player was able to rip it directly to an mp3 file. Using the software that came with my mp3 player I was able to move it directly to my mp3 player. It played just fine on the mp3 player.

Hi
Surely if you have an iPOD then you MUST have iTunes. Open the iTunes program and put in the 1st CD. From here you can rename the tracks. Tell iTunes to rip the cd as MP3 and not AAC. Once you have done all the cds copy them to your iPod.

Thanks for your advice.
Funny thing happened............
I installed the very same copy I made of the 7 cd's on my Ipod. For whatever reason all the tracks installed in sequence.
Why this happened using my ipod and why it did not happen using Nero, Media Player, Real Player, or just installing them in a folder in My Music I haven't a clue????
Thanks for your suggestion to use my Ipod as now my (problem) is solved.
What a great group! There's always members ready and willing to help.
Best Wishes to you all!

Hi Goodoboy
Do you have iTunes? If so, then when you Import (Rip) a CD iTunes will give each song a track number 1 of 17 2 of 17 ..............
Right click on a any song in the Library and select "Get Info" then select the "Info" tab here you will see the Track Number
Now on the PC when you display the files they can be displayed alphabeticaly, by files size, date order..............
It would seem that when you copyed them to CD as mp3s from the PC they went in alphabeticaly. One way around it would be to rename each track, starting with 01xxxxx, 02xxxxx,03xxxxx ..................
