I thought I would move this discussion out of the technical area and continue it here.

As discussed I have rapidly moved up the line to get into the top 10 posters. If you look at the statistics I may be number 6 in total posts but I hold the record as the most talkative based on number of posts per day. Here are the stats. Following the name is the total number of posts, the last number is the posts per day:

MidiMagic --- 418 --- .39
Ericho --- 273 --- .36
Wally --- 270 --- .23
Dancapati --- 260 --- .26
ClavinovaGuy --- 248 --- .23
ME (ScubaCPA) --- 159 --- 2.85 !

What a blabbermouth I am!! You would never know it by meeting me. I'm generally the quite guy in the corner when their is a group of people.

I promise to slow down. It will be unavoidable once I get into "tax season" and start working 70 to 80 hours a week. {For those of you outside the U.S. - we citizens have to file our income tax returns by April 15th of each year, and most corporations must file by March 15th. People and businesses hire me to do it for them. Tax season runs from January 15 to April 15}.

Well Gary...!

I never thought I'd look forward to tax time...<GRIN>

Statistics..."schmistics"...just think how good you'd get if you spent the time playing the CVP.

I couldn't help posting this..."the Devil' made me do it...!

Just having fun.

oh ... my practice time on the CVP is not interrupted.

I answer these posts usually while I am at work.

So what you should really say to me is "guess how much more productive you would be at work if you stayed off this forum"!

Work?... Gary

Call it work...?

You must be self-employed or your boss is asleep...!

My granddaughter just passed her final exams and is now a CA in Canada. From what she tells me she is run off her feet and all the people in her office the same, working long hours.

I got the wrong impression from your early posts and thought you were retired.

I'm in my 19th year of retirement, be glad I'm not your boss...<GRIN>

No not retired yet, probably have about another 10 years to go. I'm the managing partner of the firm www.ctcpas.com (http://www.ctcpas.com) so I can goof off now and then. No one is cracking a whip over my shoulder.

For most of the year I work a normal 40 to 50 hour week, never weekends. From Jan 15 to April 15 I work 7 days a week for as many hours as I can keep my eyes open (usually 70 to 80).

This is such a coincidence...

I was just "let go" from my current position probably because I haven't been as productive as I should be. I blame it all on the distractions of the internet and most notably my involvement in certain on-line communities. :(

I suppose if I was more interested in the work they've been giving me, I wouldn't let myself get distracted. Oh well, maybe it's for the best.

If anyone is looking for a programmer in the NY/Long Island area, I'm available for consulting or full-time work. Just keep me away from the internet (or give me interesting work) and I'll be the best programmer you've ever seen!

Hi Gary

I looked up your website...nice picture and a very, very jazzy tie...!

You have a most impressive list of qualifications and you have also had a busy life, you deserve the time to lurk the forum.

Hope you didn't mind my kidding.

I spent 40 years in engineering, and music and wood carving are my present hobbies, I just started to learn drumming 2 1/2 years ago and just played in a newly formed swing band for our first public appearance on Wed evening.

Thanks for your very pleasant posts.

Thanks.

I appreciate and enjoy the kidding. I'm one of the few accountants with a sense of humor.

About the ties. I have well over 100 ties (at last count). The majority, about 70 of them, have very colorful fish. About 20 are Beatles ties, and the remainder are piano and/or music symbols. I am actually known in town for my wild ties. It's my one break from the conservative business suit I am forced by tradition to wear.

I envey you getting up on stage with a band. I have messed on and off with Guitar and Piano since I was a teenager and one of my dreams is to be good enough at something to actually play in front of people. Last year I had the oppurtunity to play 2nd back up rythym guitar (just strum a few chords) for one single song performance on stage. But I had a panic attack and ran away and blew the opportunity. I've been kicking myself since.

Hi

I can not recomend Dan's programming skills highly enough. Just tell him what you want the program to do and he will write it.

Keep up the good work Dan.

Thanks MM!

I thought if I can't get something quickly in my current industry, I should look for something in music and midi. How about "YAMplayer Pro"? Any ideas for new features?

Dan

How do you improve on perfection ?

Volume, Tempo and Pitch on the fly....................

That should keep you busy.
