Well, my 3.5" floppy disk drive finally gave out on my CVP-209 -- I was getting disk errors. I went down to Office Depot and picked up a Sony disk drive for $29. Took it home, installed it, and it works just fine.

I had the same problem on my 207 a few months ago. Tried a drive cleaner disk with some magic solution and it 's been working fine. Anyway, as you noted, replacement is cheap and easy if that does't work.

Wally,
Did you find this via the internet site first. Or did you just go into the store. I looked and couldn't find them on the website (Office Depot). I thought I would go ahead and buy one just in case it's needed in the future. Never can tell if it would become unavailable. I remember a long time ago there was some discussion about the type of drive....IDE or something.

Yep, a normal ide disk-drive, they got em in every computer-shop and they come in black color too.
On a 208 the ide and power-cable are a bit short, need some patience's to install

I found the drive on the Office Depot web site -- just search for the words "internal floppy drive." After I found it on the web, I went into my local store and they had just one in stock. It's a Sony drive and it works great.
