How can I make a copy of the floppy disc so i can put them on my flash card? The disk say write protected and when I put them in my computer they do not recogonise anything on the disk. The hard drive on my Clarnovia GP is to small to hold but about 50 songs at best?

First the User drive should be able to hold more than 50 songs.

But ... to try and answer your question:

[It would be helpful if you stated your model number but since you said GP I'm going to assume you have a 309-GP. My answer will be based on that]

Have both the floppy and the smart media card in the instrument. Hit the song select button, go to the floppy tab (probably says USB1) and highlight the songs you want to copy, then hit "copy" using the buttons numbered one to eight under the menu - hit the button that corresponds to "copy" on the screen. Now go to the smart media card tab and hit the "paste" button. That should do it... WITH ONE EXCEPTION ... if the files on the floppy disk are Yamaha produced files that are copy protected you will not be able to copy them. You will get a message telling you so.

Your note mentions something about "write protect". Make sure the smart media card is not write protected. You can test that by using the record function on the CVP - just record a few measures of music and then try saving it to the smart media card.

If they're ESEQ YAM disks (i.e. PianoSoft) use RootARipper to backup the files. Then play them direct from the PC with YAMplayer or use the player's batch convert to create midi files and copy them to the card (ESEQ files won't play from a flashcard).
