I am awaiting delivery of a CVP 309gp and, of course, have yet to get my hands on to a manual, let alone the instrument.
Briefly, how does one download tunes from the internet and play them on the CVP?
I am sorry if this is a bit basic for most of you but a rough guide would be most helpful.

You don't need to wait for your instruments delivery to read the manual. All of the manuals are available for download in .pdf format on Yamaha's website.

That's what I did. I downloaded the manual and read it a week before my CVP was delivered.

Hello Dralle,

The link for free download of your manual, datalist and installationguide is:

http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/result.php?div_code=&model=&cat_code=&div_code=

Search for CVP-309

After arrival of the CVP look for the productcode and log in to the Yamaha IDC-site. Here you can order (free until march 31) a USB-LAN adapter to connect your CVP directly to the Internet.
After registration at the IDC you can download your first song or style for free to the USER-area of your instrument.

Good luck!

Ola Carlitin!

You can be sure the Yamaha offer is no joke. About 10 days after my registration I received the free USB-LAN-adapter by airmail and everything is working fine!
Remember you need the product-code of your instrument to register.
Recuerdos de Olanda!

Check out the CVPUG Tutorial on how to search for midis on the internet. That should get you started.
