We have an Yamaha CLP-970.

My son recently mentioned that the E key just up from middle C had started sticking. I read a similar thread here (http://cvpug.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=611), but for a different model.

If the Yamaha keys are similar across the different product ranges, then I guess I could have the same problem?

And finally, how difficult is it to get into a CLP-970 to change a key?

All suggestions greatfully received.

Thanks
Tony

I phoned Yamaha UK and they were very helpful.

They sent a replacement key and a few pages from the manual. Initial reading made me think this job would be difficult. In fact, it was quite straight forward.

Upon very close examination, I found the original key had a fine crack, right at the back where it clips in.

New key now in, and everything ok. Took about 2 hours overall.

One question. The packaging indicates the new key is White E CLP-911, and the key itself has 112 'E'. The original key is numbered 212 'E'. They look identical, but the new key seems slightly loose, i.e. it has a little front to back movement (2 mm). None of the other keys exhibit this. Could this be the wrong key for a CLP-970?
