If you would like to try a whole bunch of new styles that shoud work on your Yamaha just fine, check out the Files section at:

http://psrtutorial.com

This site is focused on the Yamaha PSR-2000, but that operating system is very similar to that of the Clavinova and the Tyros so much of the material applies to all these keyboards. The styles include many from the new Tyros that have been adjusted to run on the PSR-2000. They should run on the Clavinova as well. Have fun exploring (and downloading)!

I was going to try to download some of the Tyros styles posted on that web site, but I'm not sure what version PSR2000, 2100 or 9000 is most similar to the CVP207 that I own? I'm interested in checking out these Tyros styles.

Hi

I'd try the 9000 styles first. But also try the PSR2000 styles. Both will likely work, but one might sound better than the other. It's also easy to "edit" the instrument choices in the style to use certain voices that your CVP has. You will probably be very happy to discover this great style resource.

I would try downloading a category you like in both the 2000 and 2100 format. Both of these have one-touch-settings included in the style. The 9000 versions have had the OTS removed. I believe the 207 supports OTS in the styles just like the 2000s and the Tyros. The 2100 has more voices that are similar to those in the Tyros. So, for those conversions, I was able to keep most of the original voices settings in the OTS. I also kept most of the original left-hand voices. Yamaha tends to like Hah-Choir and normally has the left-hand voice off. In the original 2000 conversions, I liberally converted the left-hand voices to instruments I normally use (grand piano, nylon guitar, jazz chorus). I always play with the left hand voice ON and in fingered mode. These settings are in the 2000 series, whereas the 2100 series is closer to the style as it appears on the Tyros.

Hi Tom,

my goodness, a familiar name. I just found this forum. I've just bought myself a new CLP170 piano. Decided to actually try and get some playing practice again, instead of only fiddling round with all the keyboards ( too much fiddling, not enough playing). It's so nice to have a digital piano that actually sounds like a real piano.

Hi Rikki!!
Nice to see you over here. It's great to hear you have yet another keyboard!
Where do you have room for them all?
:D
I've been a member here for a long time. It's an interesting Forum, but I mainly just read the messages - since I'm not a CVP owner myself.

Yvonne,

Take a look at other threads. Other people have asked about changing voices, so there have been previous discussions.

Wally's the expert here, but if memory serves me correctly, you cannot change Voice settings. You can create new ones, but not change the old ones.
