I have two questions Please

1. How do I get into my profile information?
I need to update information.

2. I want add a photo of a CVP 309PE to my web site.
I've found photos on Yamaha's site but all show the cvp
on a white background.
Does anyone have a CVP 309PE Image with a transparent background I could download?
I'm looking for a photo with JUST the CVP 309PE
Thanks,
Paul M White

Paul,

1 on the homepage of CVP User Group, click "USER CP" on the blue menubar

2 see the attached GIF-file.
Note 1: I couldn't find a high-res file, so the result isn't too great.
Note 2: most photo's on the internet are in JPG format. However, JPG doesn't support transparency, GIF does. Limitation: GIF files only support 256 colors. It's fairly easy to remove the background: open PhotoShop (or another program), open the file, promote the background into a layer, click on the background with the magic wand, hit DELETE and save the result.

Thanks for your advice.
I have a problem though.????????????????????????
I have adobe Photo Shop but I've rever really used it.

I looked in the help section but I still am lost.
What exactly do you mean by the term promote the background?
I see terms talking about background and tranparent but what
ever I've tried doesn't seem to work.
Could you please explain in simple terms how I go about removing the CVP from the white background if that's possible.

Thanks again for your help.
Sincerely,
Paul M White

Paul,

Promoting the background means turning the background in a normal layer (a background layer doesn't support transparency). It's easy: open the image in PhotoShop, and double click the "background" layer in the layer palette (or right click on it and choose "layer from background..."). A window will appear which you can close by just clicking OK. Voila, your background layer is a normal layer.

Now choose the magic wand (pressing "w" on the keyboard is fastest) and click on the background area in the picture. You'll see "marching ants" around the area you clicked. If the background consists of more areas (like the picture I included which also has a white background above the pedals), hold the shift-key and click on this area. Repeat this until the entire background is selected. Then hit the delete-key. Save the file by choosing "save as" from the file menu. Choose Compuserve GIF as format. My version of PhotoShop (CS2) then shows two windows which you can just leave at the default settings, just click OK.

By the way 1: this technique only works of the background has a different color then the subject.

By the way 2: I noticed that the file I attached wasn't showing as a link but appeared in my message. It seems to have a white background, but this is because the background of this site is white. If you want you can save it by right clicking on the image and choose "save image as" or something like this (whatever browser you are using).
