Legal Question Regarding Recordings

I hate to bring up this topic but now that I am planning on saving some recordings for my personal use... what do I need to do to do so legally? I own scores for everything I'm playing but what about performance rights?

I see some of you have done some wonderful orchestrations of great songs and compositions. Is is OK to share these with others?

Try the MENC website. It has automatic forms for asking permission to arrange, record, and perform, etc. Be aware that you may have to pay for the rights to do so. You can always ask...if you don't like the terms they send back you just don't do it. www.menc.org

It's a busy site, so search good for the right online form.

As long as you don't intend to sell your recordings or profit from them in any way I'm reasonably sure there is no problem.
