I guess it's official I talk to much! :D

In order to look something up to answer another persons question I wanted to find a post I did a few months ago. So I went to the members listing where it allows you to search for posts by member. I knew I was in the top 10 posters so I just went to that page figuring it would be easier to find my name there. Was I shocked when I saw that I was at an even tie with MidiMagic for the highest number of posts at 482 posts each. Only thing is Midi has been a member since January 2003 and I have only been a member since October of 2005. So I have written as many posts in 9 months as he wrote in 3 1/2 years!

When I hit "submit" for this post it will put me at 483 posts officially passing Midi.

That gives me the prize as the most talkative person here.

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME TO SHUT UP

No Gary, you are very helpful. So just keep on posting. I might not post a lot but I read and learn a lot.

Shut up Gary.

:D

(but you can keep typing all you want - 'cause we love ya!)

... Hey MM, are you gonna let this relative newbie de-throne you? :p

Hi!

Please keep going! Your input makes this site one of the best on the net.

In fact I was getting worried because you have been quiet lately. For instance I was expecting a reply on my multitrack recording post.

Same thing with Ed (kempedkemp) - he hasn't said anything for a long while, has he?

I guess it's vacations.

I was wondering about Ed myself.

I did not post anything about the multi-track thread because you are so far above me in that area, anything I said would probably be stupid.

I did listen to a few of your tracks and you are both knowledgeable and talented.

I understand the mechanics of the multi-track recording and have done it for experimentation and understanding of the system, but I don't (yet) have the musical talent to really take full advantage of it.

Oh, that actually feels a bit disheartening (that's a word isn't it? Or is it?) If I'm coming across as "better-than-though" then I should be the one to shut up. :-) In a forum like this it is important that no one feels "stupid" as you say, everything is welcome. I was actually hoping for some constructive criticism. And as a "Connecticutian" (try to pronounce that) I was hoping that you could perhaps shed some light on whether Honegger had in fact ever even been in Connecticut (as it was at the Hartt School of Music I got the script)

In any event I also hope Ed shows up eventually (I've even sent a PM which he hasn't replied to)

Danny:

OK - I guess "stupid" was a very wrong word to use, especially in an international forum where the word has many meanings around the world. We probably overuse that word in the U.S. as part of our slang.

As you know, I attended the University of Hartford also, but for my masters in taxation. Now in the later years of my life I wish it had been in music.

My point was I am awed by your playing ability and hope some day to play half as well as you. Until then I will just enjoy listening to your creations.

Hi

I didn't know it was a race, I just reply to be helpful.

I find it easier to send an email Direct to the person who needs help. That way his original question is answered. Also it keeps the number of posts down and allows others to catch up.

Often I will give out my phone number, as a live one to one is much better.

So I had better waffle on and get my post score up.

I didn't intend it to be a race. Somebody else mentioned that. I was just shocked when I happened to notice it.

Just remember Gary, every minute you spend on the computer is a minute you could be practicing on your CVP! I hope you're not getting bored with it!

Neither CVP nor CLP have been feeling many fingers the past three weeks or so. I've been busy packing and moving to a new apartment/flat. I did manage to get several hours in on the CLP this week. It is great procrastination from the myriad of boxes needing to be unpacked. The CLP has a beautiful new home on a sunporch through French doors off the livingroom.

This morning I mowed and raked the lawn and set up the computer. Hopefully I will get the stereo hoooked up and the CD's unpacked this afternoon.

I've been missing the CVPUG!

Hi Scubacpa

Every time I reach 500 posts it keeps knocking me back to 499. I get to 500 then a couple of days later it's back to 499 again.

Hello. Just is case you missed me!

I have not disapeared.

I just got back from a 2+ week scuba diving trip to the Galapagos Islands. Saw some great animals below and above the water.

I took some great (in my modest opinion) underwater video of hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, seal lions, penguins, dolphins, etc ... (about 6 hours worth of digital tape) Over the next few months I will edit it down to 30 or 45 good minutes and add music and put on a DVD. That's what I have done for my previous trips.

Will some of the soundtrack be ala Gary on the CVP? You could do some great soundtracks with the XG special effects pads.

Do you have a web page we could check out some of your photos on?

No, I'm not good enough to feature myself playing (yet!).

That's a good idea about putting some of my stills on a web site. I'll work on that and let you know.

My real passion (and I've been told skill) is my finished underwater video's. They run from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. I have done them on Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Multiple sites in the Bahamas, Palau, Truk Lagoon, Papua New Guinea, and Komodo.

People have commented that they are as good as things they have seen on the Discover Channel. When I get them done I am requested to show them at Rotary Clubs etc.

I spend uncountable hours on the editing and compiling.

I don't think my web server has enough space to post a video that long. But I do have them on DVDs and make extra copies for people to borrow.
