Hi dear Clavinova friend,

I am a new and proud owner of the CVP 309 and have 1 simple question.

Hope someone can help me.

Has someone of you the correct title names of the about 1800 songs in the music finder?

Many thanks for your kind help.

Thanks for your help Midi Magic - yet to install mine yet because I am worried about what some people say about there being UK and US versions of this download.

Are you connected in anyway to Midi Magic of Swansea (who sell midi files - also via their online branch "midi files now")??

Cheers,

Mike.

Hi Mike

No I am not connected with them. Not sure who had Midi Magic first !

As for the mfd file, I am sure it is the European version I posted. This has more, lets say, Omp Pah band styles than the US one.

Load it in, if you don't like it then you can always reload the original one, as it is stored in the CVPs ROM.

Here is an excel file of the differences between the US and European mfd. I think this came from the 209 mfd.

I have downloaded the file 307us.mfd. Is the CVP 309mf.mfd a better file to load? I tried to find the instructions for loading this file in the owner's manual but somehow I missed the procedure.

I have recently puchased a new CVP-307 and suppose that the 309mf.mfd is compatible. So, which file I should load and how do I do that? Thank you.

There is no difference between the 307 and the 309 as far as the Music Finder program functionality is concerned.

There is some difference in the database content between the USA and the European versions. As you can easily remove/add records in either version, get both versions and edit each according to your preference.

Page 110 in your Owner's Manual describes the procedure for replacing the .mfd file in the instrument's memory.

Have fun,

Thank you Bassclef. Everything went well as per your instructions. Instead of 1850 songs the upgrade had over 2200 songs with the proper titles.

Hi Carlitin,
The second post in this thread (by MidiMagic) has the file cvp309mf.mfd attached to it.
Download this file and follow the instructions on page 110 of your Owner's Manual to replace the Music Finder records currently in the instrument.

Hi Carlitin,
Yes, the European version contains about 2000 records. There are a number of versions floating around with different total number of records.
I tried uploading a different version for you with about 2300 odd records, but the "new look" forum software does not allow the uploading of .mfd files. Must have something to do with copyright concerns, I guess.
Go to post #13 in this thread, click on the offered link and download the relevant .mfd file. There are more than 2300 records in that version.
Good luck,
bassclef
