Hi Forum,

A quick question on transporting a CVP 207: We want to buy a CVP 207, but living in an appartement, the transport becomes an issue !

Can somebody help us with the following information, as we have to move the CVP up to the third floor by lift/elevator. The elevator is limiting factor !

1. what is the weight of a packed CVP 207?
2. is it allowed to move the CVP for a couple of minutes on its side ?? will it get damaged ?? The lift is only 70 cm wide and 90 cm deep, so we would have to tilt it on its side for transport in the lift/elevator?

Any reactions are welcome at diels.geert@belgacom.net

Best regards from Belgium - Europe

Hi,

the weight of a packed CVP 207 (without bank, as it's usually sold in Europe) is >80 Kilos and the package is _really_ big. When I bought mine I had to unpack it to make it fit into my car. The good news for you is that the main unit is quite sturdy so I imagine it won't be damaged if set carefully on the side while in the elevator. On the other hand the manual says: "Transport the keyboard horizontally. Do not lean it up against a wall or stand it up on its side. Do not subject the instrument to excessive vibration or shock."

So if you don't want to take the risk and have enough room to manouver in your staircase two strong guys should be able to carry the unpacked main unit to the third floor despite its weight. Just make shure it doesn't get dropped ;-)
