Dear All,
I have a CVP 208.
Does any one know how to save the setting on the score page to show a certain on the score display & guide light control. I seem to have to reset this every time I go into the song again.
I am hoping someone will have an answer.
Glenn.

Not sure what you mean. Which setting are you trying to save?

When in the setting for the guide light feature you can choose one of the channels of a midi file for the guide light to show, althoiugh this has an "Auto" setting it is not always the one I would like the lights to show. E.G when learning to play the piano accomp part of a track.
Sinmilar goes for the score function, choosing whoich parts of the track to show in the score view, these can be adjusted.
Once these have been changed to the parts I want, turning off the machine or going to another song seems to revert the setting bvack to some form of default.
My questoin was is it possible to save these setting in some way to avoid going into the and changing them each time.
Hope that clarifys my question.
Here's hoping,
Glenn.

As I understand it, the guide lights default to MIDI channel one. What I tend to do is move the track I want to play to channel One, this way it is easy to mute output from the MIDI file if needed and the score display shows channel One by default. To move the track I want to channel One, I use XGWorks to reassign the MIDI channel and then resave the MIDI, but this should work in any PC based sequencer package. It may be possible to also do this within the Clavinova and then resave the file with the changes. Can anyone advise on this?
As far as I know you can't save changes to the tracks assigned to the score view. This setting is not part of the MIDI file and the setting reverts to Channel One & Two when you select another MIDI file or power off. If you always want to show track three and four in the score view of a particular MIDI file, I would suggest trying the method described above.
Hope this is helpful

Thanks Howard I appreciate your help. Unfortunately I don't have a PC based midi programme like XG works so i too woukld be grateful for any advice for moving tracks from one to another using the Clavinova.
Cheers,
Glenn.
