Hi,
I am looking to purchase a CVP-207 from a dealer in Canada, much
better price...$1,500 UDS less.
I called Yamaha USA Clavinova service and have been told Yamaha USA will not honor warrantee service on a Canadian purchased Clavinova.
Any comments on this?
Thanks
Jim

I don't know what the policies of other Canadian dealers are, but Steve Loates' Keyboard Centre will honor the warranty, even if you live in the US. You deal directly with them if you have a problem, not Yamaha USA. I had a repair done and couldn't have been more satisfied with their responsiveness.

ClavinovaGuy,
That's good information to know. In your case, did you have to ship your Clavinova back to Keyboard Centre for service?
So far I've not found one discouraging comment regarding a purchase from them and finding out they honor warranty for customers in the U.S. is more icing on the cake. I am curious, however, what the actual steps are when one does need service.
Since you've been both unfortunate enough to need it... and fortunate enough to get it, could you expand on the experience a little?
Thanks,
bernie

Thanks for all the info.
I spoke with the folks at Steve's and I was told they would honor the warrantee.
I was told that if a experienced a problem they would call a local repair
dealer to repair the unit.
Now that said a say, I saw in another post that Yamaha is threating to pull US dealers dealership if they work on non-US purchased units.
This may mean it will be very difficult to find someone to work on the unit...

When I needed a repair, I contacted Keyboard Centre directly, and they were very prompt to reply. He found a local technician for me, who came to my home for the repair. I paid for the repair, and was reimbursed by Keyboard Centre.
