Hi!

I've now recorded Prokofievs 5th symphony, second movement, Allegro Marcato. It is between romanticism and modern, so it contains a lot of atonal bits. It ends in total cacaphony. I don't normally do that kind of thing, and don't like atonal/modern, but I often find myself humming the main theme because it is quite good, and so I decided to record it myself.

To me it has a scherzo feel, although it's only marked as marcato. At the same time it always makes me think of the Russian revolution for some reason. It's quite dramatic in places; where the gran cassa starts in particular always remnds me of an old teacher of mine who pointed out in a certain piece that it should sound like loud banging on the door by the enemy during a war. That is what it sounds like here.

He also goes to town with the percussion. It's syncopated yet not. There is a "Boleresque" bit which didn't quite become as sexy as I had hoped for unfortunately.

All in all a fun piece though.

Hi!

I didn't post the MIDI before because I was having the same old problem where it annoyingly added 300 bars of nothing to the end, and this time I had extra problems getting rid of the crap for some reason.

But I finally managed it. So here is the MIDI in case anyone is interested. As usual - FOR CVP USE ONLY. The PC will not be able to handle tracks 9-16 properly and it will sound horrible.

Danny,

Thanks for posting the midi!.
Where I live, I cannot get high speed internet, thus MP3 files take forever to download.

As always, you music is unbelievable. What talent!
