Got to break the good news...!

There will be a new CVP 209 delivered to our house to replace my 14 year old CVP300 in the next few days.

I am truly excited.

I also hope that the seasoned users on this forum will be around to help me through the learning curve. I know I'll need it.

I joined the forum last April and it was a significant reason for my decision to stay with the Yamaha family of digital pianos. There does not appear to be anything out there like it for the competition.

Look forward to lots of dialogue with you folks.

Congrats, Ian! You should probably try to get ahead on your sleep now - once the new piano arrives, you'll be up 'til the wee hours :D

Thanks for the email you sent, Ian!

I got my CVP 207 almost 2 weeks ago now, delivered a couple days after I ordered it from Pat.

Surprisingly enough (maybe) I haven't really cracked open the manual yet :D

The interface is fairly self explanatory, although I'll admit I haven't gotten into any of the recording/manipulating stuff more than just a little bit. I've been having a lot of fun playing with the songs and voices and experimenting with it all..

all in all I'm very happy with my CVP! ;)

I found that the Clavinova watch and learn videos, you can order
from your dealer or on line, are great way to learn more than what's in the book. They give alot of extra tips that you don't find in the manual.

Thanks Patricia for the info.

The dealer did not mention videos, but then perhaps he did not want to overwhelm me as I ended up with a much higher model number than initially intended, and the corresponding spending...!

However, are the videos model specific and are they directed at the odd number 200 series...?

Ian,

In the video they show a CVP207 but they do have some for ealier models also.
I originally bought a 203 then a 205 then upgraded to the 207 and now going to the 209. And found the videos very helpful.
There is not much difference in the functions between the 207,
208, 209 & 210. You made a great choice because the upper end Clavinova's have a sound system that is simply wonderful.
You'll love the features that are offered.
It is pretty overwhelming when you first get it because there is so much that can be done with this instrument. I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute!

Good Luck!
Patricia
