Hello folks,

Three years ago I purchased a new CVP305 .. was very pleased with it and considered it good value for money. Over time wished that I had gone for the 307 with its extra features.

About three weeks ago sold the 305 and managed to obtain a new 307 (shop demo model) for a reasonable discount.
I am ever so pleased with the instrument.
However did have to place it at an angle to the wall to obtain best sound.
Fortunately my music room is large and can accomodate this .. would be difficult though in a smaller room.

I love the sound!

Cheers,
Ronnie

I'm a CVP-305 user and i'm already know about specification different each other.

Key Different CVP-305 VS. CVP-307

1. Voice Speech
CVP-305 : 128
CVP-307 : 256

2. LCD Display
CVP-305 : 320x240
CVP-307 : 640x480

3. Voices
CVP-305 : 370 + 480 XG + GM2 + GS + 29 Drum Kits
CVP-307 : 468 + 480 XG + GM2 + GS + 33 Drum Kits

4. Styles
CVP-305 : 308 styles
CVP-307 : 386 styles

5. Amplifiers
CVP-305 40W x 2
CVP-307 60W x 2 + 20W x 2

6. Price (In korea shopping mall official price)
CVP-305 : $3,900
CVP-307: $5,400

CVP-307 is very expensive for it's function specification

I wonder of purchae CVP-307. Inspite of price... CVP-307 has more merit than CVP-305?
(Except upper key diffent features)

Ooooh! my 1st post! :) I recently went through the purchasing research and was considering both the 305 and 307 (and maybe the 309 for giggles) and ultimately the 307 gave me the most bang for the buck. Sure, it has features I'll never use but it has a metric buttload that I will ... just as soon as I know they are there!

Congrats, and it really is an amazing and versatile instrument

I must confess that I did not try the 305 before purchasing the 307 but I can assure you of a much better instrument because of the extra polyphony capability... and it has a bigger amp in it too. Even the CLP 170 sounds better than the 305. I heard them side by side and didn't even bother to sit down and try it, the CLP sound was clearly better/richer. (It has the same sound system thats in the CVP 307)

The CVP 307 or 309 are great instruments. If you just need a great piano, the CLP 170 is your best bet. It has a lot of voices and 16 track recording, but the voices on the 307 are better and there are more of them.

I debated between the 307 and the 305 for quite a while and finally decided on the 305. I compared the features, and for me, the extra features on the 307 were not enough to justify the extra cost. So far, I have been ecstatic with the 305. I haven't run out of polyphony yet. :-)

The main hesitation I had between them was the speakers (CVP-305 40W x 2 vs. CVP-307 60W x 2 + 20W x 2) but the 305 has blasted out my music loudly and beautifully! Glad I didn't spend the extra money.

I also compared the 305 and 307 and decided on the 307. When purchasing something that lasts over ten years your needs and tastes increase. Few years down you will likely regret your decision. The sound of the piano on the 307 is fantastic and definitely better than that of a baby grand.
It is better to buy more rather than just right.

I'm not a professional musician by any stretch of the imagination. This is just a hobby for me. I think I'll be just as happy with my 305 in 5 years as I am now - maybe happier because I will have learned how to use all the features! lol

Who knows Kaye. May be in few years time new superior models come out and when you exchange yours for a new model you will be way ahead of those who opted for the 307. In the meantime enjoy what you have, it is a very good piano. All the best.
