Lately my dog (a lazy Golden Retriever) is in the habit of sitting right behind me while I'm playing on my CVP, just staring at me. It's annoying. At first I thought she didn't like my playing (:D), but she also does this when I'm wearing headphones.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any solutions (besides selling the dog and getting a fish in a bowl)?

Haven't you noticed that the CVP looks like a great big squeeky toy? ;-)

Its true admiration for your music Eric. If the dog were guarding you, he would have his back to you. He probably finds the music curious. . . I seem to remember having a dog that liked to sit at my feet when I played.

Does the dog exhibit any signs of deafness? Maybe it is an attraction to the humming noise your CVP makes.

Wally, I'm glad she doesn't think it's a big bone and starts chewing on it.
And Ed, she can hear very well (but only when she wants to :D).

Well, at least she isn't howling when I'm playing. That would really make me feel like I'm play very bad!

Eric,

When I "play"(if you can call it that!), two of my dogs lie down with me. The third one leaves the room.
I've asked the two that are staying if it is the soothing music or the hum of the CVP. But since they never answer, it may be that they are deaf!:p

My dog (a Yellow Lab) also sits and watches me play. I find it pleasant and comforting. In between every few songs I rub her head or neck.

Maggie, my cat, meows at me and tries to jump up on my shoulder. When I'm playing right-handed with the guide lights, I let her sit on my left shoulder and she's happy. At other times when I'm actually using both hands, she lies at my feet. My youngest two (6-month-old "kittens") run around and play, and my oldest cat wanders around staying out of the way of them.

They can be sound asleep when I leave my bedroom, but as soon as I step in the living room to play the CVP, there they are!

So it would seem that animals might enjoy the CVP too.
