It surprises me nobody has reacted on the link provided by zaboomafoozarg (is that your name of birth or did you change it? Just kidding...:D. Here is the link without the google junk http://www.yamahamusic.org/catalog.phtml?level=3&productclassid=338) showing the new CVP-400 series. Or is it a hoax? I don't think so, as it seems the official Russian Yamaha site.
The models look good to me, they make my CVP-303 seem a little old fashioned. The CVP-407 and CVP-409PE seem to have very large displays. The mentioned features, however, don't differ from the current CVP's, apart from the USB Audio Recorder.
Any reactions anyone?

Well, only to point out that the d-pianos of the CVP 300 series are starting to go down with the prizes in Europe...

Hi!
It surprised me too. I jumped high when I saw it.
It doesn't seem to be a hoax as such, but it is probably a leak of old ideas for the next series. The text certainly doesn't indicate anything major new. Otherwise there would have been an official press release. I remember the last time around some site in Germany also posted pictures of the "new series", which was just leaked internal prototypes. When the series finally came, it was not like the pictures.
From the pictures otherwse it would seem that not much has changed. All the buttons means that it is still not touch screen. And for some reason they've moved the top row together with the bottom row and taken out the color coding. To me that seems a step back in user interface.
I don't believe it.

I posted this in other forum:
I was checking a little bit more. The differences between the CVP 300 series and the CVP 400 series are minimal.
I don´t see much differences between the CVP 301/3 and the 401/3. The main differences are the styles and voices . I guess new software, sampling, sounds, etc... should be different... but technically are quite similar.
I found a dealer in Germany who sells both CVP 401 for 2.099,00 EUR and CVP 403 polished for 2.969,00 EUR.
Here a link for the CVP 403 (http://www.musik-schmidt.de/osc-schmidt/catalog/yamaha-clavinova-cvp403-polished-ebony-p-22169.html)
They mailed me that new models will be presented in Frankfort (Germany) next 28-31 of March.
Any other news out there?

Hi!
Then it's all legit. But I don't think they'll release all the specs until the Messe. Here's hoping it's more than it seems - otherwise I'd be very disapponted indeed.

Hi!
As a side issue (but an important one, I guess, for our user group), it would be interesting to know if the new 400 CVP Series takes into consideration any of the features that have been proposed by ourselves in the Wish List Forum.
Any news or rumours about that, or is it too early to ask?

I cannot get more technical details, but as far as I get more info i will let you know. I have some contacts in Frankfort and they will give me some news soon.

Hello Everybody:
I found these specifications on a French retail site. Notice the Super Articulation voices and 4-level dynamic sampling on the piano voice. The photo shows what looks like a much larger color screen.

Just for those of you who cannot attend to the music messe of Frankfort, attached a picture of the new CVP 403 model of Yamaha.
You may have a look here:
http://messe.yamaha-europe.com/yamaha_fair/uk/index.php
I am just waiting for the specifications, I will let you know about it and the new models. I think we could start considering to open a new forum section called Yamaha CVP 400 series... :)

Hi!
The Messe is long done, yet I can't find anything on the CVP4xx? Usually they have a big press release as well. I find this very strange indeed...

I just got a German magazine (Musik Produktiv, Handbuch für Musiker 2007; it's kind of a music catalogue) with a lot of ads. It also features the CVP-400 series, but no prices (were unknown when the book was printed). So apparently these are the new models, but Yamaha isn't in a hurry to promote them (yet). Perhaps they aren't too proud of the improvements :D.

What it's for sure is that here in Germany music stores can order now the new CVP 400s but you will get them at the end of September (but as user you can even order them on-line). I guess the stores will wait a little bit to the sell the CVP 300s. Anyway, from what I see, the major changes are superficial and related to how the models will look like. I wonder if the Tyros technology will be finally adopted by the CVP-400 series, a demand I heard from many CVP-users.
What's really astonishing is the press release... which is not yet available...strange....
Finally some comments copied from another forum, from somebody who visited the last messe in Frankfort.
- touch and feel - there's little or no difference in the cvp400 feel against the cvp300
- finish - some of the finish options have been swapped round (eg this time you will be able to buy a cvp407 in polished ebony finish, where as you can't get a cvp307 in this finish.
- no major milestones in terms of the upgrades apart from the difference seen between a tyros1 and tyros2 (as was anticipated). However, as many people will tell you , Tyros2 is still a groundbreaking machine in terms of it's technology. so it was described to me that you could look at the cvp407/409 as being a Tyros2 in a piano. Sounds like a marriage made in heaven to me!
- the smartmedia slot no longer exists in the 400's, and replaced with standard USB interface for USB flashdrives.
- screen size is the same as the cvp300's.
- not sure about the hard drive capability.
- there won't be a 409GP range (grand piano version)... just a standard size cvp409.
