Hello:

I am new to this board and thank those in advance for their time and help.

I played piano when I was a kid of 10 for 3-4 years. I have now picked it up again 45 years later with the recent purchase of a CPV-309 PE. I am getting local lesson and progressing fine enjoying every minute.

I learned a song that I played at a recital and have never forgotten it. Have never passed a piano wherever I have gone and played it from memory. Don’t have or seen the sheet music since I left home. It is not all there, but what and how I remember is in this short Midi file.

Question: Could someone name it? I remember it to be a march. If so could you still get the sheet music?

Thanks again… Gerry

Do you know i was convinced that it was going to be "O when the saints" lol, but i'm afraid i've no idea.

Nicely played though Gerry.

Sorry for the question, but are you sure your piece had a specific title?
I'm asking that because the tune is very simple and might have been excerpted from an antology for beginner pianists, where the pieces, as being fairly short, might just have had a tempo indication, but not a particular title.
Anyway, I've looked up my old collections and first scores and, regrettably, didn't find your recorded "incipit".

I'm sorry for not having been able to be more helpful to you, as I understand that that tune must be important for you to remember.

Best regards,

Thanks for taking the time with my piece. Yes I am sure it had a specfic title. I had the sheet music when I was learning. And I agree the it was a "learning piece". I remember it being titled something "March". Also, over the years I am sure I have modified and left some of the song out. Anyways, thanks and it was 45 years ago. Lot of water over the dam since then....... Gerry
