Hi!
In another thread
we seem to have discovered a rich repository of musical scores belonging to the public domain, accessible to everybody in the User Group.
This has awakened an idea that's been crawling inside my brain for some time: the possibility to create a song by working in group, as playing in a virtual orchestra (or chamber ensemble) of CVP's, starting from the same musical score.
Whence a number of questions to be answered:
(1) Is this idea interesting (by definition, it must be shared and agreed by two persons at least...) ?
(2) If so, is it technically feasible on the CVP? Seemingly, the CVP does not allow one to concatenate or merge two MIDI files, but this should be possible, I suppose, by some external computer tool. If my hypothesis is right, that tool would permit the integration of the various parts, recorded separately on different MIDI files.
If this approach sounds nice, the User Group might also reveal some "latent" Special Interest Groups, focusing on particular musical genres.
I hope to have been enough "thought-provoking"...;)
Best regards,
