I read this on another forum, it may be useful for you:
I have written a small program to replace all my printed chord sheets and decided to release it as freeware for anyone else who may find it useful.
"Digital Fake Book" has a built in metronome and can link to audio files with A/B section looping to aid with learning songs by ear.
You can read more or download it from here:

I would love to have some feedback on whether others like it or just think it's useless.

Hi Eric,
I wanted to let you know that I checked out your program and it looks interesting. It's not anything that I could use, but I'm sure that accomplished musicians will benefit. (I'm a newbie.) :)

Hey Kaye,
I must admit I forgot I posted it, mostly because I don't have a PC next to my CVP and use sheet music or just improvise. Thank you for reviving this thread again!

I'm not even sure whether it looks like fakebook at all. A fakebook should contain simple melody score with chords and lyrics as simple song reminder. What this program offers are just lyrics and chords for karaoke singing.

Mostly I wanted to reply because I see a lot of posts where people offer links to cool stuff and nobody says anything - like thank you - about the post. I usually check out most of the posted links and some of the downloads and occasionally some of the music, and I know that other people do too. Someone should say thank you once in a while. That's all. :-)

I agree with your sentiments, Kaye. It's nice to get feedback after one has taken the trouble to post or respond to a post.
