I am not sure if my question is located into the right place in this forum...

I was asking you what is the best way on CVP 400 to record a song in MP3 ? Is there a way to do it without pluging a computor directly to CVP, such as using a USB key which would do the convertion in MP3 when recording the song...? or do we must use a special software for conversion ?

Hi!

Yes, it's the right place.

The 407 should have USB recording. Since I only have a 309 I can't give you exact instructions on how to start that function, but it should be in your manual.

Basically the idea is that you connect any USB stick (or USB disk) and record to it, then move it to the PC. As far as I know it is recorded in WAV format, so you'll want to use some software to convert it to MP3. There are many free softwares to do that if you don't already have one. They for instance often come with sound cards.
