Just received my new 407 after trading in my 305. Apart from Wow! the biggest difference i have noticed are the keys they are simply wonderful, no more key noise slip and the response is so good the move to the 407 for this alone was worth the money

buttons will take a bit of getting used to but this aside the sound and feel are just brilliant.

very happy :)

I can't wait to try one of those out. Does it feel similar to a 309?

I owed a CVP 305 but did play the 307 and 309 in the shop before i settled on the 407
its down to personal choice but price aside i didn't notice much difference.

However from the 305 to 407 their is a world of difference. the only criticism i would make is leg room on the 407 ! am some 6ft tall with long legs and on occasions i do catch my knees on the cabinet housing the speakers.

All in all the look and feel is just superb.:)

I am ectatically awaiting the arrival of my 409-and I know I'm going to have a jillion questions....but my first question is, will the CVP tutorial CD's help me navigate the intstrument, or is the 400 series vastly different from the 300 series?
Thanks,
Lesleigh

Ah, so I take it they are in the U.S. now? It has taken quite a while for Yamaha to start distributing them here.

Zaboom, I've encountered that problem with Yamaha before; when I bought the 207, I really wanted the 300 series but was told it would not be out for another six months in the States. Why does Yamaha do that? Is it a production issue????
At any rate, I received my instrument yesterday and I've been "tootleing" around with it all morning. Kudos to Yamaha for making the manual easier to understand for this series...but I can already see what problems I'm going to have....so, can anybody tell me if the CD tutorials will help?
Thanks,
Lesleigh

Hello All,

I am new to the forum and just yesterday ordered a new CVP-407! I am a "classically' trained organist who wants to "teach an old dog some new tricks." My church has a 3 manual Allen organ and a CVP-203 Clavinova that I play evey week. Needless to say, I really enjoy the Clavinova and wanted one for my home!

I was wondering about the pros and cons of the 407 from those of you who have played this new model in comparison with some of the older models. I had considered a 307, but finally decided on the 407. Have I made the right choice?

I hope to eventually do some compostion using my laptop and Finale. Any suggestions?

I look forward to learning from many of you very experienced Clavinova players and am sure I will have several questions!

Thanks for this forum and the opportunity to share questions and ideas!:)
