The rounded selection roller could be replaced with jog. E.g. to circle it several times full circle in order to setup new tempo value or select something on IDC is stupid, using jog this could be easier.

I'm sorry, but what's a jog?

Jog wheel is like roller. You can increase or decrease values but you do not have to circle full circles on it, just turn jog in one direction and while keeping this direction value is increasing, turn jog in another direction and value is decreasing. Depending on how much you deeply turn jog defines the speed of value change.
Jog wheel is used in mobile phones, VCRs and other devices too. E.g. when you'd like to forward/rewind the tape a little bit (e.g. one scene) on your VCR you could use this jog button turn it and keep so in one direction and tape is forwarding/rewinding. If you turn jog very slightly the tape is forwarded slowly. As much as you deeply turn the jog in one direction as much as the tape is forwarded quickly.
This same jog wheel principle could be used on CVPs for changing tempo values, browsing IDC, moving between bars in song etc.

Hi!
I do not understand this fellow.
Not sure if you were joking there? When he says Poh he is referring to Winnie the Pooh, as in his icon. The honey loving bear that got stuck in the door as he ate too much. :)

Yeah, of course I know who or what Winnie the Pooh is (I've got three kids, also was a kid myself as well), also understand that this guy is talking in third person as Pooh, but what he said? What's the point of his response. Wierd for someone who has few hundreds of posts ...
However, forget it.
