I have a 309PE in excellent condition I would like to sell, but I have no idea how to go about it. The store I bought it from says they are overstocked on trade ins, and can't take it now. I would put it on ebay, but I just don't trust selling something of that value. Has anyone had experience selling on ebay?

I am located in Morris Plains NJ.

Thanks

Hi,

I observed the piano market on Ebay for a long time before I got my CVP 96 here. My observation is: If a CVP 3xx is offered in perfect condition and still under warranty then it starts up with very low prices, but some hours before ending the price goes very high, so I never got one ;-).
Often the price rises by 50% in the last seconds.
Often the ending price is higher than for some commercial return-ware offers.

That refers to the market here in germany.
If unsure, then you could offer it with high starting price and add an option to get bids that you can accept or reject at will.

(Forgive my english, it is not my native language)

brgds,

Peter

Try this forum (I bought my 209 from another cvpug user), the local newspaper, craigslist (under instruments), -or- a yamaha dealer out of your local area. Ebay will also work, as long as you use buy-it-now, or set a sufficiently large starting price. (Be prepared to pay a bit in fees, though)

How much would you want for it. Shipping would cost me about $500 to Colorado.
Thanks,
