CVP 209 polyphony exceeded

I am a little confused. I had a CVP 208 and recently upgraded to a CVP 209. I thought because the 209 had more polyphony I would be okay. But unfortunately, even on the CVP 209 notes drop out. It only happens when playing piano and background. It's worse with the 208 but still does it with the 209. Can anyone explain why this happens even with more polyphony?

Particularly with the Live voices, each note can take up several notes of polyphony, and more when sustained. So, for example, if you use Piano 2 with Live strings, you are likely to run out in a hurry. You will find that the Natural piano voice doesn't exhibit this problem (though I much prefer the Piano 2 voice).
