USA Edition Upgrade for CVP 407

Does anyone know where you can find the USA Edition Upgrade for the CVP 407? The MusicFinder is driving me crazy!:confused:

My Yamaha dealer said it wasn't developed yet and unavailable, but on the new DVD demo, the Yamaha artists say they are using a CVP 407 with the USA Edition and mention the difference in the screen and Musicfinder!:rolleyes:

Anyone have any luck in securing this upgrade? Any information would be greatly appreciated! :)

I don't think there is CVP upgrade dedicated for USA that would differ from other upgrades. There are different Yamaha sites for corresponding world market regions but the upgrade is the same.

Gene, you should call up Yamaha customer service. The number is in your manual. I have a CVP 309 and when it came it did not have the USA upgrade. I had to contact the store I bought it from and they came out and installed it from a floppy. They forgot to install it before they shipped it to me. This install is done by the store you buy it from. The CVP 400 series does not come with a floppy drive so I assume it is on a memory stick using the usb port. It may not be out yet but I would still contact the store you bought it from and voice your concern.

You are so right. Not more than an hour ago, my Yamaha dealer finally called me and said that he had been able to secure the USA Edition for the 407 upgrade on floppy disk. It will be installed tomorrow!!:) (Thank goodness I also bought an external floppy drive!) It evidently has taken Yamaha a little longer to get their "bugs" out of this software than expected, since the 400 series has been available in the US since July!

Everyone who has bought a new 400 series Clavinova in the US, needs to make sure they get this upgrade from their dealer which includes a readable MusicFinder, additional voices, and different screen design. IT IS AVAILABLE NOW and must be installed by the dealer! Your dealer MUST REQUEST it from Yamaha USA! It is part of your package, so be sure that YOU request it!

You are welcome Gene. Do not do a factory reset, you will lose the update. If you have to reset your CVP just press the power on button and the last note (C8) closest to the power button at the same time olding the C8 key. You will not lose the update this way. If you lose the update then you will have to call the store up and have them reinstall the USA Update. Yamaha does not like the owners to have a copy of the update. This is given only to approved Yamaha dealers. This is to ttry to stop black market units being sold. You get no support from yamaha for black market products bought. Buyer beware.

Have fun with your new toy. Is is a blast. I have not been bored since I bought the CVP 309PE a year and a half ago.

Thanks botuur for this very helpful link! I tried to get this information from my dealer and he couldn't get it supplied from Yamaha!!! They installed the new USA Edition but the music finder entries never changed! This download was just what I needed. Thanks Again!:)

I think once the USA Edition is installed you have to manually choose to use it with the replace command just like it is described on the link botuur provided. The USA Edition for my dad's 303 has an additional list of nothing but religious music titles. Must be something Yamaha did to help sell to churches.
