I spend few days in collecting information from Internet web sites, user and reference manuals about CVP models and finally assembled all this into one main and additional related tables and converted it into convenient HTML form. This work is not 100% finished since there's no CVP-20x sounds comparison table. Although it looks very simple, it was everything else than simple to combine all these styles and sounds into meaningful comparison table; same style names but different styles, different styles but the same name, in one model style in one style group, in other model the same style in another style group, ...

The main table contains information about CVP models where one can easily compare among models in terms of supported functionelities.

Additional tables contain lists of styles and sounds from CVP's.

I expect that this pages could be integrated into CVPUG site (maybe somewhere in CVP Tutorial menu).

I hope this information will help us.

Thanks to Dan (dbjorck) for sending me his styles.

Hi!

That is a truly amazing piece of work you've done!

Wally, as he suggests, can it be put on the FAQ?

Hi!

Nice work, Stjepan.

This suggests to me a question, perhaps of general interest.

Is there a way to load a set of html files, like the ones you produced, into the CVP and to exploit the browsing capabilities of the CVP (as used in the IDC) to have them displayed on the CVP screen?

This could be useful, for instance, in order to have the whole "Data List" manual available on-line in the instrument itself.

What do you think about that?
Is that feasible or should one consider it an item for the wish list?

Best regards,

wally

Nicely done!!!

I'll ask Sean if he can add it to the site.

That's something that I've been trying to do since the moment I purchased my CVP. On this forum we came to this in thread about Operating System used inside CVP machines and afterwards I started new thread about Demos, since this was important topic for me. Of course, I do not expect that CVP supports full W3C HTML standard and pages I created, I'm sure, could not be presented in CVP without some restrictions in HTML.

But knowing that my CVP renders pages from IDC I know that CVP is capable of rendering very simple HTML pages (text content and images at least in BMP format). At the end, I still haven't succeeded to make my CVP to show my own HTML's!!!

I adore Yamaha for creating such amazing machines like CVP but in the same time hate them because of their closeness in terms of internet connectivity. Why not allow others to connect CVPs to other internet pages than IDC and to create their own content on Internet with HTML demos (text+images+midi). I know, this would be competition to IDC store but ...

Wow, I can't believe the amount of work that went into those tables. Very well done.

I will look at adding them to the FAQs and hope to get to it later in the week. Great job!

Thanks Sean,

Actually my first intention was to analyze Yamaha styles. I will study styles next, extract rhythm patterns from existing styles to see how drum rhythm is assembled, how rhythm and bass guitar were used in styles etc.

This was like a collateral work.

Here is the latest version.

Version 2.1 of the Comparison Tables have been added to FAQ sub-menu on the Main Page.

The table will open up in a new window, so be sure to make sure your popup-blocker, if any, will allow it to open.
