I know these 2 models come with RGB video output and would like to know if anyone has tried to connect it to an external TV or monitor and whether it can display clearly all the information you see on the built in lcd?
I have read on this forum that past models were very fuzzy on video output.
You would think that these things would have at least a vga out so you can hook it up to an lcd monitor.

CVP-407 and CVP-409 are the only models that have RGB (composite signal) out appropriate for LCD monitors, other models do have only classic video out that one can connect to TV (which could also be LCD type TV but that's not the same thing).
I'm also interested how does it look like CVP with LCD monitor.

Don't you mean "component" video?
(composite (in the US) means NTSC on a single RCA/phono jack - that's going to look like crap on a digital LCD monitor)

OK, so we're talking about a db-15 VGA type connector. They call it "RGB" because the standard carries the analog video signal by its red/green/blue components on seperate leads. I suppose calling it "VGA out" would not be as descriptive of the signal
Just don't call it "composite" because one of my pet peeves (in case you hadn't noticed) is confusing "composite" with "component".
Bottom line is that the resulting image when displayed on an LCD computer monitor should be very sharp. Much better than the composite video output on my 207. Yet another reason to upgrade!

Thanks to all who have contributed. We need to hear from someone who has hooked this up to a lcd monitor.
I know that lcds have a fixed resolution and given the resolution on these 2 models of 640x480, it would be nice to know how they perform when output to a lcd monitor.

Phillip,
That's great. So on your lcd monitor, you see exactly everything that is displayed on the built in lcd on the keyboard?

hi Parasailing
Yes you do see everything you would on the screen on your cvp screen the advantage to me was i have my cvp in my conservatory which lets a lot of sunlight in so made it hard to see the screen . and as a beginner i liked to look back at my recordings which it realy is good for to see the full score .Plus i use a Music Pad Pro for all my score sheets instead of books and Paper which i can connect to the screen has well if i want it bigger than the pad hope i have been some help .

Phillip,
Your response is greatly appreciated as it has help people like me decide between going with the 3 series or going with the 4 series.
