Is there a way to play all files on a disk?

I'm sure there is, but I can't find it in the manual. I want to play them sequentially (like a CD) -even better would be to program them to play in a specific order. Thanks for helping this novice...

You can have the CVP auto play each song on a disk (in file order) by selecting the 'function' button and then Song Settings. Turn 'Song Chain Play' to ON. It won't let you specify the order.

All the songs you load in to a particular file are displayed on each pages and from page to page in alphabetical order, and played that way in Chain Play Mode. You can change them to the order you want them played by "renaming" each song and putting a letter (or number) in front of the title of each song, therefore rearranging the playing sequence. Example: A-My Buddy; B-One Fine Night; C-Hat Scat; etc., or 1-My Buddy; 2-One Fine Night; 3-Hat Scat. This will change the order of the songs on the pages as well.

The behavior of Song Chain Play is described on page 137 of the CVP 209/207 manual: "Allows you to play back all songs from the same folder continuously." This means Song Chain Play only works within a single directory (folder).

Let's say you have turned the Song Chain Play feature on*.

-- If all songs on your floppy disk are in the main (root) directory, then all songs on the disk will be played in sequence (alphabetical order).

-- But if you have directories (folders) on your floppy disk, and you go to play a song within a directory, SCP will only play songs within that directory.

So, if you want to play all songs on a disk, when you are making the disk, put all the songs in the disk's main (root) directory.
