If a person has recorded the lead line and chords for a song, is it possible to take the diskette from the Clavinova and insert it into a pc to print out some decent-looking sheet music?

If so, what software would have to be loaded on the pc?

Thanks for your advice.

There is a big choice of notation packages from shareware to professional packages. A search for notation software on a shareware site such as www.downloads.com will give a good selection of shareware packages.

Retail mid-range sequencer packages such as Yamaha's XG Works, Cakewalk and others all allow printing of scores.

If you have got very deep pockets, or are looking at top level professional products, Sibelius 2 is worth a look.

Go to http://www.midinotate.com for a low cost ($34.95) music notation software. You can download a free trial copy.

Also take a look at http://www.pgmusic.com

It is the website of a Canadaian music software company that has a very reasonably priced sequencer program called Power Tracks Pro Audio. Also a great accomaniment program called Band in a Box.

Demos are available on the website. The programs are in use internationally.

I use Band in a Box to produce midi backing tracks which I then put in my CVP209 disk drive to play along with.

They also have probably the best and most active forum to help with any questions one may have about the use of the programs.

Check it out.
