I memorized 2 different registrations on my CVP 407. Before I memorized the 2 registrations, all 8 lights were not lit up. After memorizing the registrations only the number one and number two lights were lit. One of course was red if being used and the other was green.

I shut off the machine and turned it back on. The registrations were still there. Something happened and I am unable to get back to only having the machine show 2 registrations.

Now all eight lights are green. I can use any of the 10 preset registrations just fine. What I can't do is shut off the preset registrations and go back to my orginal two memorized registrations.

I am afraid to delete any of the factory preset registrations, because I want to keep them all. I would like to be able to create a new empty panel and put new registrations in that new panel, without distrubing all the factory preset registrations, but I can't figure out how.

On page 131 of the 409/407 owners manual on the bottom right hand side it reads as follows: "Deleting all eight current panel setups. To delete all the eight current panel setups, turn the POWER button ON wile holding the B6 key (right most B key on the keyboard."

What I don't know is if this will remove the factory present registrations, since I can't seem to find the 2 registrations that I memorized. I have been to Functions and into the registration area on how to delete or change the name of individual files, but that isn't what I want to do since the only files that I can bring up are factory preset registration files.

Does anyone have a idea of how to create new Panel setups without distrubing the original factory panel setup?

Thanks,

Dale

Saving Registrations is a two step process. You must not only "memorize" them to one of the 8 buttons, as you did, but you must also then save the registration bank. Unless you do the second step, your registrations will be lost when you turn the power off.

You don't really need to erase any registrations to clear them. You can just simply "memorize" your new ones over the existing buttons 1 through 8. The act of "memorizing" the buttons 1-8 does not overwrite the saved (preset) registration. The key is for you to do the second step, and save your registration with a unique name (MyReg, or something). It is this second step that stores the reg, so your original (preset) will not be harmed. Then, you should be able to load either your personal registration, or any of the preset ones, whenever you wish.

I'm not familiar with the preset registrations on your CVP (I have a Tyros2). But they should certainly be in your User memory and be able to be loaded back in whenever you wish. Maybe another CVP owner will know more about this.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the information. I'll do as you have instructed and hope that I don't remove any preset registrations.

How do you like the Tyros 2?

How does it compare with the CVP 407?

Thanks

I like my Tyros2, but I have never been a piano player.

I'm sure I could learn to love a CVP 407 or 409 if someone gave me one!
