I, probably like many others, do not understand what kind of "wave memory" you're asking about? Could you preformulate your question? Do you mean what's the size of sound wave sample or what?

The Size of the Piano Multi-sample in cvp'/clp's between 64 and 96 mb
After the cvp200 series Yamaha didn't publish the sample size anymore.
Samples rapidly improve the piano voice up to a size of about 8 mb
Larger samples than 8mb slowly improve the sound up until about 32mb
After this size sample the architecture of the instrument is more important than the sample size
Sample larger than 80 mb mean nothing concerning piano voice quality and playability.
In the last few series/models cvp the quality of the piano voice has considerabaly improved, It has nothing to do with the sample size.
Kind regards
Eric

Hi
Hm, not sure if I go along with that. Take a look at this site and listen to the demos. They use samples in the Giga Bytes.

Hi
Had one of those on my computer last year (not very legal so I deleted it after a few days)
Not bad at all (you do need 2000$ worth of hardware to get a respectable result)
I never listened to a 300 or 400 series cvp, cos I don't want to tempt myself in replacing my 208 ;-).
The Yamaha s90es piano voice is my personal favorite at this time followed by the korg oasys piano voice.
I don't care about specs when it comes to a digital piano sound, I try to purely follow my ears/feelings.
I'm In the market for a good digital piano for my studio and a software version is a good option for me, got all the hardware I need anyway
(88 keys midi controller, computer, midi interface, firewire audio interface, near-field active monitors)

btw.
Its the structure of the ivory software that makes it good, like 10 layers of 88 part multisamples + sustain sample etc.
On top of that good software, dsp effects, etc
If the sample date would have been 16bit ipv 32 bit we would have been in Mega byte land and who would tell the difference ?? most people cant tell a 44.1kHz 16bit wav file (cd track) from a mp3 file in terms of audio quality.

Hi,
Listen here: http://www.pianocompare.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=44&Itemid=53
(Flash is required)
(If the flash applet doesnt display correctly in Firefox then try Internet Explorer)
They have a lot of pianoemulators and also Yamaha Motif playing the same MIDI file.
Hint: There is no clavinova yet :-)
Currently I use ARTVISTA software on my laptop and the sound is routed back to the speakers of my CVP96. This has "only" 6GB of samples and I think the sound is better than /any/ digital piano that I have heard before.
You can hold down a key for 20 seconds and hear how the sound slowly and periodically pulsating changes its color and volume.
Its a very realistic feeling and sound. (A Steinway sampled in 4 layers)

These are much less demanding for hardware and banking-account than Ivory ;-)
Ok, now I had the chance to test NI piano too.
While it has a lot of controls, I did not like the sound. It sounds as if it where recorded with pickups.
Doesnt sound like wood and vibrating wires ;-)
ArtVista sounds much better to me, of course the CVP96's sound system contributes a lot.
Artvista has no layer morphing, no continuous pedal, no string resonance, no adjustable hammer and pedal noise, nevertheless it sounds great like the real thing.
There is another affordable software that was not mentioned here: Ivorys newly released grand italian.
That might be another candidate, but I was not able to test it.
Update:
Finally I found how to test some others, especially ivory and galaxy:
